We meet every Sunday to worship God, enjoy community, and learn how to live as Jesus did (1 John 2:6). As Jesus himself welcomed us, so we welcome you – whoever you are. We’d love to have you join us!
Whatever you'd like! Jeans or suits, slacks or overalls, T-shirts or button-downs: all are welcome. We believe Jesus when he said, "Don't worry about what you will wear." We're not worried. We don't want you to be either.
Worship has a feel of warmth and approachability. We want someone who has never stepped into a church to be able to follow along. That's why we project onto a screen all the songs, prayers, and sermon PowerPoint slides. That said, our worship is not casual; after all, we worship the living God! With God's help, we seek to strike a balance between proper reverence and approachability. To learn more about a typical Sunday service visit our worship page.
Yes! We strive to worship God in a way that is true to who we are. Since we are truly an intergenerational community, this means worshiping in a way that taps into the hearts, minds, and spirits of all ages of people. Therefore, some elements of our worship are rooted in the ancient Christian tradition: "passing the peace," singing the "Doxology," partaking of Communion regularly, and signing a hymn or two. Other elements of our worship give witness to the newness of God's work among us. So we sing mostly contemporary songs accompanied by guitar, piano, and a box drum. We also hear relevant and practical sermons in accessible and everyday language.
No. The offering is for those who call Heartland 'home'. As our guest, we simply hope that the worship service has been a gift to you.
Absolutely not. We especially welcome the curious, the doubting, the skeptical, and the broken. After all, we've all been there. And Jesus welcomed us.
We grow most when we grow with others. And it’s just more fun that way! Want to get connected, but don’t know where to start?
