“The greatest among you must become like a person of lower status, and the leader like a servant.”
Rev. Brandon Smith
Brandon is from Kokomo, Indiana and grew up in the same church as his wife Stephanie. They met while serving together as youth leaders. After a snowy education in Holland, Michigan (B.A. Religion at Hope College, Master’s of Divinity at Western Theological Seminary), he now serves together with Stephanie as a co-pastor. He enjoys making his baby daughter laugh, walking everywhere, playing games, and being a coffee snob.
Rev. Stephanie Smith
As a military brat, Stephanie traveled around a bit but grew up mostly in Kokomo. She attended Taylor University (B.A. Christian Ministry) and Western Theological Seminary (Master's of Divinity). Before moving back to Indiana, Stephanie and Brandon spent the first seven years of their marriage living with students of Hope College, where Stephanie worked as a Resident Director. Now they have their hands full with just one resident-toddler Lilly. Stephanie enjoys reading, nature, and playing with Lilly.
One of the first faces you will meet at Heartland is that of our Administrative Assistant, Kathy Keiser. She works part-time in the HCC office Tuesday through Friday. Kathy lives in Monticello IN with her husband Bryan. They enjoy spending time on the lake in the warmer months. They have two grown daughters living in Lafayette and Greencastle. Kathy has been a member of Heartland since 1988 (formerly First Reformed). She has served as a deacon and is currently on the Property Team and Welcome Team.
Kid's Hope Co-Director

They cast the vision for Kids Hope, lead the volunteer mentors, coordinate the prayer partners, and continue to develop the relationship with Hershey.
