Sunday Discipleship
We offer classes for all ages to deepen their life with God and others. ‘Sunday School’ is the traditional term for this, but we want to emphasize that this isn’t so much about information as it is transformation. We want all people to learn how to live and love like Jesus. So while head knowledge is a key component of these offerings, the goal is to get it into the heart. Jesus himself makes this point, when he says:
“These words I speak to you are not incidental additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are foundational words, words to build a life on. If you work these words into your life, you are like a smart carpenter who built his house on solid rock. Rain poured down, the river flooded, a tornado hit—but nothing moved that house. It was fixed to the rock.” ‐ Matthew 7:24‐25 (The Message)
See “What to Expect” for more details. Sunday Discipleship is offered nearly every Sunday from Labor Day to Memorial Day.
Preschool (ages 3-5)The youngest at Heartland are provided a safe and loving environment to learn about God with a well-experienced teacher. Using the Little Lambs curriculum, they enjoy guided play, fun crafts, simple stories, and beloved rituals. They are also introduced to the basic stories of our faith through colorful God Loves Me Storybooks. Led by Kathy Summers, who serves during the week as an in-home child care provider.

Elementary (K-5th)This year we will use the 11:00 hour to take kids deeper into what they learned in Heartland Kids. Focusing on the same lesson from Grow Curriculum, we will do fun (sometimes messy!) crafts and activities. We will also go deeper into the Bible story, and memorize the monthly Bible verse. Every month has its own fun series that helps kids explore different parts of the Bible. September is “Choose Your Own Adventure,” exploring the wisdom of Psalms, Proverbs, and James. October is “Big and Small” on the book of Job. November is called “Plate It,” on the Old Testament prophets. And December is, of course, “Joy to the World.”
